Whitchurch began this game hoping to continue their visible improvement under coach Andy Powell. The visitors started brightly but it was the red shirts that scored first when the returning Ben Vailings made a great break and released Jake Dodwell to score th opening try.

Another long journey for the Whitchurch team down to Malvern. This week the Shropshire side saw 4 young debutants for the 1st team, Harrison Vernon, Leo Whittaker, Andy Davies, and Matt Slark adding to Max Clarke and Tom Emmerson in their second competitive first team game.

This was a vital game for both teams as they were both looking for the first win of the season. It had the extra incentive for the home team to get one over on their past coach Scott Sturdy.

This is one of the longest trips the North Shropshire lads have to make this season with a 108 one trip. This is proving a challenge to new coach Andy Powell with some of the team not being able to get the off away from families which ked to the debut for 5 young players.

There was a buzz of excitement around Edgeley Park for the first game of the season under their new coach, the Welsh International and British Lion, Andy Powell. A large crowd saw some excellent rugby from both sides as the clubs competed for the first time in over thirty years...

This was a game when Whitchurch were looking for revenge following the close defeat at Winnington earlier in the season.

This was a result that left the Shropshire men more agngry than upset.

This was a game that both teams wanted a win to take them to the security of mid table following being postponed twice due to the weather.

The oft-used phrase, “Ground out a win”, has never been more apt than this incredible fight back by Whitchurch Rugby Club this weekend.

A strange afternoon of outstanding tackling and commitment mixed inexorably with moments of half hearted flapping saw the Reds go down to a well drilled Waterloo…

Bad Day at the office for the Reds!

At the start of the week this game was in jeopardy due to pitch being underwater but thanks to a few drier days at the end of the week was playable

High flying Bowdon left Edgeley Park happy, but bemused.

This was probably the toughest day of the Whitchurch team so far this season. With a handful of regular players out and the long 100 mile trip up the M6 the Reds found the Vale men hard to take on.

This was a match that could accurately be called, “David V Goliath”.

The once mighty Scousers came to Edgeley Park on a wet and windy day to face a resurgent team of reds and were soundly beaten.

Whitchurch got their first away win of the season on Saturday after a gruelling three and a half hour drive up the congested M6 on Saturday

Waterloo (Firwood) came to Edgeley Park with a hundred per cent record but found the Shropshire lads in great form.
