Opportunity: New Head Coach
Whitchurch Rugby Club currently playing in Regional 2 West Midlands (Level 6) is seeking a highly motivated, player focused Head Coach to lead the club for the 2023/24 season. The part time role involves leading training sessions on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and matches on Saturday afternoons. In addition to this the Head Coach will also have some responsibility outside of these times.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement training sessions that focus on improving players' technical and tactical abilities across the clubs senior section
Work with the management team to select the best team for each game
Attend all matches and training sessions to provide coaching and support
Work closely with the medical team ensuring player welfare is at the forefront of decisions
Support club volunteers with the recruitment of new players and transition of existing players
Develop and maintain positive relationships with players, coaching staff, and club officials
Collaborate with the club's committee to ensure the smooth running of the clubs senior playing section
Attend all club events as required
Build and maintain relationships with the clubs mini and junior section to ensure there is a pipeline of players being developed to fit in with the “one club” culture.
Qualifications:
Minimum RFU Level 2 coaching qualification or equivalent
Proven experience in coaching rugby at a similar level, with a track record of developing players and teams
Excellent communication skills and the ability to motivate players
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
A positive and professional attitude
Remuneration for the role is negotiable dependant on relevant experience. We are looking for the successful applicant to be available from the start of the 2023/24 season however, if the right applicant is available sooner there may be scope to start prior to this.
